A classic turned viral in the Bundt Cake Series—this one has TWO reasons you’re going to love it:

ingredients

  • 1 box French Vanilla cake mix
  • 1 small pkg (3.4 oz)
  • instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup salted butter, melted
  • ½ cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ c. cocoa powder, sifted
  • 5-6 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • ½ c. milk
  • Pinch of salt (optional, but enhances chocolate flavor)

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F and grease Bundt pan well
  2. 2 Mix all cake ingredients on low 30 seconds, then medium 2 minutes.
  3. 3 Bake 45–50 minutes until a skewer comes out clean
  4. 4 Turn cake onto wire rack after letting it sit for 3-5 minutes.
  5. 5 Cool completely.
  6. 6 Cream butter until smooth and fluffy.
  7. 7 Add vanilla, mix.
  8. 8 Sift powdered sugar and cocoa powder together, add approximately 2/3 to butter and start to incorporate.
  9. 9 Slowly pour in milk with mixer on low, gradually add remaining powdered sugar and cocoa powder until desired consistency.
  10. 10 Taste and adjust — add a pinch of salt if desired
  11. 11 Beat for at least 3-5 minutes.
  12. 12 Pipe frosting using a ziplock bag or a disposable piping bag with the tip cut off.
